SANIKAI: When ethics and aesthetics are equal principles

Sanikai is a Swiss based vegan and sustainable fashion brand.

Since 2015, the brand is engaged to protect our Mother Earth by using natural or recycled materials, working closely with suppliers and producing everything by hand, hence minimizing the impact on the planet.

Sanikai has give up the stock and all the items are made to order in their studio in Zurich. It is an ethical luxury made to order - for independent & conscious women.

For every garment, SANIKAI pays maximum attention to fabric selection, fitting and perfect quality. The company’s core reflects a positive and caring attitude towards the conscious choice to embrace life and wake up dormant senses.

Their prototypes are sewn in the heart of Zurich. In cooperation with young and talented dressmakers, they work on a creative but equally sustainable basis. Their current manufacturers are Dresdensia in Lugano and TEXTIL AG in Huttwil Switzerland.

Sanikai is all about transparency and this is why we love the Brand.

Responsibility and Manufacturing: The clothes are sewn with much love by hand. Sanikai knows the names of their tailors and they appreciate the close and personal cooperation very much.

Materials: Because clothing affects the skin, they only use the following materials, that they ensure are earth, human & animal-friendly:

  • Organic Cotton (GOTS, KBA)
  • Swiss Organic Cotton
  • Organic Linen (GOTS)
  • Ramie
  • Recycled Plastic Bottles
  • Regenerated Nylon
  • Recycled or KBT Virgin-Wool, GOTS certified (winter collection only)

Buttons & Threads: They use buttons made from coconut shell, wood or corozo and are made by certified producers across Europe.

They try, where possible, to rely on existing resources. their sewing threads are recycled from recycled plastic bottles and are vegan. Next, to these so-called rPet-bottles we also use organic cotton threads.

Dyeing & Printing: Their patterns are digitally printed onto recycled plastic in Europe. The dyes are vegan, and the printing process uses less water and energy than other printing techniques. Depending on the number of dyes in the pattern, Sanikai chooses between rotation or digital printing.

Shop consciously.
